I go to Ivan’s Hair Salon, not just because I get the haircut I want, or because its close to where I live, or because many of my friends go there. Mostly its because over the many years I’ve been going, my life has been deeply enriched by the wonderful woman, San San, who is so intelligent and who cares to do good in the world. She knows so much! I love her politics. Her field of study was nuclear physics and we’re lucky she’s around. I’m definitely her fan. If you need a lift to your spirits, just drop in and have her warmth surround you.

I have had my hair cut by San San for seven years. Yes, Ivan’s is not only a salon
for men, but women and children as well. I have always found it to be a warm,
welcoming, pleasant place and San San herself to treat clients with generosity.
The hair cuts have been excellent. I appreciated the fact that she listens very

can’t believe this place has any bad ratings at all.
I’ve been going here about three years and am more happy with the ladies here than any other barber shop I’ve ever been to. Rather than looking at my haircut as a chore, I look forward to chatting with them as a break from my day. They’re polite, speedy and most importantly, they cut hair well!
I can understand why someone might have a problem with the not-so-great English skills of a couple of the ladies, but so what. You just need to make yourself clear.
I can’t say much for the guys that work there, as I also stick to the women, but my partner had his hair cut by a guy there and it was the best cut he’s had in years.
Yes, they did raise their prices to $17, but is that really too much to pay for consistently good haircuts and service? I don’t think so. I’m an Ivan fan for life

.I’ve been getting my hair cut here for 19 years, since I was 6 years old. San San always cuts my hair exactly how I like. I can be very specific. When I was a kid and had my Jim Carrey phase, I asked her to give me a bowl cut like from Dumb & Dumber, and she gave it to me. When I wanted to get the same haircuts as my older brother, she would always do them just how I wanted. Now, as an adult, I have more serious requests, and she does them impeccably. I came in this past week and asked to look more Asian, and she did just that.

I’ve been with Ivan since 2007 when I worked just a block away. At that time I decided to try a professional barber shop after some “too creative” cuts from expensive and fancy salons. I’ve stayed with Ivan to this date even though I now need to make a special trip – and it’s worth it! The atmosphere is professional yet friendly, and they always deliver perfect cuts, whether requested with a demo picture or on those “just please do a great job” days. My best cuts to date have been done by San San, Nick, Benito, and Frank. Highly recommended.

I have been a regular customer for almost 27 years, and I have seen many of the changes as the orignal barbers retired. San San (Owner) has done a great job keeping the traditional atmosphere. Staff and customers alike always seem to be happy and friendly, and their skills are excellent.

If you are looking for a new place to get your hair looked after, I’d recommend checking Ivan’s out. You should make an appointment as it is often busy.

I have been attending Ivan’s Hair Salon for the past 5-6 months. This salon provides excellent service and great prices. I am very impressed. I most say that Benito (young Italian guy) who works there is OUTSTANDING!!! I love the way he works. He always does exceptional work and is always honest with his clients. He spends the extra time with his clients.

Just got a haircut at this salon with stylist Bene. Couldn’t have asked for a friendlier more comfortable atmosphere. He was fantastic, my hair is exactly the way I want it, better even. I will definitely be returning to you guys for my next cut.

I’ve been coming to this place for close to 10 years now and while I can’t say it’s been perfect every time, I’ve never had any issues. San San has always been reliable for me and I wouldn’t consider going somewhere else unless she retired. A couple of my friends come here as well and as far as I know, like it as much as I do.

I got my hair done by a blonde hair lady who works there on certain days of the week. I was not happy with her work. She is not very good. I would not go back to this place. Most of the ladies there are not good at all.

What r these comments lol Evans is good and everyove there is so pleasant and friendly and give super haircuts!!! People are so jealous of san san because she is a wonderful kind lady and goes to extremes to please everyone!!! She is successful and people hate that. Too bad for them. San san is absolutely phenomenal. I have been coming here for a year and I have never had a single trouble. Everyone in the shop is very pleasant to talk with and the service is absolutely top notch. I drive in from Oakville to come back here because of the quality of the cut. I would highly recommend Ivan’s.

I am not sure why the bad comments. I have been going to Ivan’s for almost 10 years and have never had a bad experience. Trisha has been cutting my hair for the last several years and she is the best! Have just moved to Toronto and decided to give this place a go.
Not a good haircut, hair on one side of the head are longer than on the other side and longer strands throughout the head stick out like sore thumbs. Not going back.

Since I moved to Canada in 2009 and found this place, Ivan Hair Salon has been my only choice to get my hair cut, they treat you like family, always a great service and you get exactly what you want you ask for with an extra love and care from the stuff. Ben can cut a mean faux hawk. He used some weird dual scissor technique that made my hair look great. He also taught me a few at home techniques for reducing poofing in my hair. Over all, very happy with the cut.

I first visited Ivan’s Hair Salon in 1992 when I worked on Adelaide St. (and then eventually, Front St.) and continued as a customer through 2006, when my job took me far out of the downtown core. Bruno and Carmen were there during these years (great guys) but it was San San who did 95% of my hair cuts over the years. You will not find a nicer person than San San and a better place than the homey feel of Ivan’s to get your hair cut. Give it a try for yourself and I bet you will be hooked! I have been shaving my head now for a few years, otherwise I would make the trek downtown to see San San again!
